Harry Potter!!!

This is Aaron, actually taking over and adding my first post...
OK, so for those of you who HAVEN'T read the 7th book yet, this post doesn't give away anything...don't worry.
OK!!!
So, after reading pretty much the best book I've ever read (not including the scriptures, c'mon guys) I feel like I have to hear how other people have felt about it, and see what questions you all have, since Emily is still in the process of finishing it and I can't currently talk to her--it's been KILLING ME!!!! Anyway, the other main purpose of this post was to include this link that I found on Entertainment Weekly's website--JK Rowling answers some questions about Book 7 that some readers have had (including myself) that weren't mentioned in the book. Copy and paste the link below, and check it out (unless of course you HAVEN'T read it!):

Let me know what you all think!

Hey Aaron, I saw that interview on the today show and it was so good. I'm still so emotional about it, I kind of tear up when I think about it. The book was so good. Amazing. In the interview she also said that hermione is very high up in the magical law enforcement department and that not only were ron and harry aurors, but they had "revolutionized" the auror department.

I agree it was one of the best books I have ever read. So many things make me sad about it, though...like it being the last one of a series that I have invested so much of my heart in! But the thing that breaks my heart the most is probably Snape. I feel so sad when I think of him. Did anyone else totally break down and fall apart when they read that Harry was a horcrux? I thought I was going to die from grief (ok, exagerration). I still had hope though...Sigh.

I don't know mel, in the interview with j.k. she was asked if she knew that snape was always going to be a hero and she said that she didn't think snape was one, he was still just as mean and spiteful as ever. and if voldermort hadn't killed lily he probably would have been a faithful death-eater his whole life. but of course, he was incredibly brave even j.k. had to admit that. its just so sad when you think about his life. if harry hadn't been there at that right moment to catch snapes memory he never would have known that he was a horcrux and that he was supposed to let himself be killed. close call.

Hey if ya'll want a good book, check out "STIFF", by Mary Roach. No hero's or magic but good in its own way....

I FINISHED HARRY POTTER-So i get to join the group now, YAY!!!
I loved the seventh one. I think it and number two are my favorites. When they first mentioned the deathly hallows I KNEW Harry was going to have to die, but that was OK because he would be able to conquer death. Book six I thought was kind of a give away that Harry would have to die...did no one really see that coming? Snape's character was the biggest surprise to me though. That blew me away. I LOVED how Rowling did that. In the end, we still didn't have to like him but we had respect for him.
Beacuse I;m a dork-I was REALLY sad about HEdwig dying. That got to me.

I finally finished too! So Sheryl, even though you were out of the country, don't feel like you were behind. I just decided to read the 6th book again last minute and let Aaron read the 7th book first. I loved it though and will admit that I was surprised with Snape. I agree with Mindy, he was evil and would have remained a death eater if Lily wasn't in the picture. It was surprising to hear Lily call Snape her best friend though. J.K. Rowling is such an amazing writer. I can't wait for the next series.

Oh also, I didn't really feel like Harry was a Horcrux persay because Voldemort did not make him one and was unaware of him. But, without that part of him in Harry, Harry would have died. It all worked out in the end...

Like I said on haycock's blog I think, I don't think it made sense to have harry be a horcrux because harry never had desires to join "the dark side," or whatever you want to call it. Look at how all those horcruxes acted, and all harry got was parsletongue and some other shared abilities? Harry has such a good heart and a good character, that is what makes him a hero, yet he has part of Voldy's soul in him? It just doesn't add up, Rowling! But, other than that, of course I thought the book and series was brilliant and I absolutely worship it. I also think Snape deserves more credit than we give him...I know what Rowling said about him even after the fact but I still believe he was a hero in a way. I totally understand why people still wouldn't like him, but I think he did something very heroic by killing Dumbledore when he asked him to...he may have died and no one would've known that he was good...but it wasn't because he didn't want to be known as good, it was because what Dumby asked of him required it to be that way. Alright, sigh...I can't wait to read the whole series again!

Now that Emily's read it, and we've talked about it, I feel a resolve--Rowling also ended it so well, with nothing too big still left up in the air. But I was also thinking that it would be fun to just re-read the series again, Mel--we should race! haha jk
